Rose Valley / Red Valley:
Rose Valley is one of the best known valleys in Cappadocia. Divided into many smaller valleys: Gulludere, Kizilcukur, Meskendir and Zindanonu, this beautiful valley takes its romantic name from the colours of the rock which replicate shades of roses that vary in intensity at different times of the day.
There are many stunning cave churches and tunnels to be explored along the way with alternative paths depending on hiking ability and time constraints. The most common hike through this valley takes approximately 2 hours and is 3.5 km in distance.

Walking for about 5 km in one of the most attractive valleys of Cappadocia : Red Valley, with its fabulous volcanic rock formations, is in the heart of Cappadocia but away from the tourist crowd.
Rock-Cut hermit churches with frescoes and paintings fit with the Valley's meditative atmosphere, remained intact since the beginning. The hike will finish at Cavusin Village, one of the latest abandoned Christian village and one of the oldest settlements in the area.
After having a short walk in the village we will visit the St John the Baptist Church which dates back to the 5th century AD and probably the oldest Christian building in Cappadocia.
